Born in 1958 into a blue-collar family in Pennsylvania, Bill inherited a work-ethic that propelled him through college and into the Ivy League at The University of Pennsylvania School of Law. From there, Bill started his legal career in a Philadelphia-based mega defense firm. After ten years defending corporate America, he realized his heart wasn’t in it. So, with his career on the fast track to success--he gave it all up and started his own firm. It was time to start fighting for the common guy.

That was twenty-five years ago and since then, he has focused on representing railroad employees and other honest, hard-working people who have been injured by others. He has represented thousands of clients in his tenure and has become a highly-regarded trial attorney up and down the Eastern Seaboard with offices in New York, Philadelphia and Boston.

As a civil litigation attorney Bill knows the law, and knows his way around a court room, but he writes about criminal law. Bill has wanted to be an author as long as he can remember. An avid reader, you can always find him with a book in his hand, his inspirations coming from Scott Turow, John Grisham, Michael Connelly, Elmore Leonard and Dennis Lehane.  So, when Bill sat down to write his first serious full length novel, he had to do some research. He went to murder trials, preliminary hearings, arrangements. He talked to police investigators and criminal attorneys. His goal is to not just write about the criminal side of law but to be as accurate as possible to court and police procedures.

His first book A Criminal Defense came out in 2017 and went on to become the Number 6 best-selling book on Amazon Kindle in 2017. His second book An Engineered Injustice came out in January 2018 and was based loosely off of an actual Amtrak train crash that took place in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia in 2015. These are the first two novels in the Philadelphia Legal Series. The third book in the series, A Killer’s Alibi, comes out in January of 2019.

Philadelphia plays a major role in Bill’s writing. As much as he strives to write accurately about the law, so too does he try to stay true to Philadelphia. As you read the Philadelphia Legal series you find actual Philadelphia landmarks scattered throughout using his real life as the inspiration.

He also volunteers his time and his staff to the Pennsylvania Innocence Project which helps to exonerate prisoners who have been wrongfully convicted based on solid scientific evidence. The Ronald McDonald House of Philadelphia is another passion of Bill, which helps families of sick kids in the community.

He has been married to the love of his life, Lisa for 25 years and they reside in the Philadelphia suburbs where they are slaves to their two dogs Pharaoh and Phenoix and cats Rufus and Peeca.
